Pineapple Ohana, our Hawaii Vacation Rental at Volcano Village Estates strives to ensure that its services are accessible to people with disabilities. We have invested resources to help ensure that this website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, with the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

PineappleOhana.com makes available the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget that is powered by a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows PineappleOhana.com to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

Improvements we have made and continue to make to website make it accessible for impaired users as per the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA). Room details and amenities for guests with disabilities:

Pineapple Ohana:

This cottage has four steps up to the lanai (porch) to enter the front door. The bedroom is in a lower level and requires you to walk down a steep narrow staircase to access the bed. The bathroom has a separate walk-in shower and step-in whirpool bath. This room is not recommended for guests with mobility with mobility restrictions.

If you wish to stay with us at Volcano Village Estates, we instead recommend our accessible room as noted below.

Onomea Falls (accessible):

This cottage has a queen size bed small sitting area and is handicapped accessible with parking at the door. The entrance into the room is flat. The doors are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair and the bathroom has grab bars for the shower and the toilet. Be aware there is a small lip to step over for the shower.

Dining

All dining is in room and there is a small eating area.

Public Restrooms

Due to the historic nature and size of the property, we do not offer a public restroom in any of the check in areas, common spaces or business center.

Parking

There is a parking space close to the path for the room that is accessible (Onomea Falls). The parking area is flat and can easily accommodate a van. Parking for Pineapple Ohana is close and there is a flat walk-way to the cottage.

ADA Signage

There are no braille signs anywhere at the property.

We have accommodated a number of ADA guests over the years and we are more than happy to do what we possibly can you make your stay enjoyable. Please do not hesitate to call us with any questions or concerns you may have prior to making your reservation.
